🎃 Our very first Halloween writing contest!
Earlier this week, we announced a big change to our platform. Starting October 1st, Creepypasta.org will officially be know as Nightscribe. As we strive to be the best possible platform for your nocturnal tales, we open our doors to all things dark and gloomy, from classic creepypastas to horror, mystery, weird fiction and more. We couldn’t be more excited to head into this next chapter!
To celebrate this change, we’re launching our very first contest:
Creep out of the darkness and into the spotlight, as you’ll get the chance to win a full story narration by Nightscribe’s very own narrator. Your narration will be posted on our brand new YouTube channel and shared with the entire Nightscribe community.
The rules
- The contest opens September 12th, and closes October 17th
- A Halloween themed story is mandatory
- Your story must be tagged with #halloween2024
- Your story must have a max. length of 4500 words
- Your story must be new and original
- Your story hasn’t been published on any other platform
- When participating, you agree to the following: your story being narrated by Nightscribe’s narrator; your narration being posted on our YouTube channel; your narration and/or story being mentioned on our social feeds; your narration and/or story being featured in our newsletter.
How to enter
Starting today, September 12th, you will be able to enter our contest by writing a Halloween themed story, tagging it with #halloween2024 and submitting it between September 12th and October 17th.
How to win
Rid yourself of daylight, conjure an unholy Halloween tale and pray this prize of paranormal proportions may soon be yours. After we close the contest for submissions on the 17th, we’ll take our time to review all #halloween2024 tagged stories, before choosing our 3 very favourites and announcing the winner of the contest on Halloween.
What to win
As mentioned, the winner’s story will be fully narrated by Nightscribe’s narrator, who will remain a mystery to you for the time being.
The narration will be posted on Nightscribe’s Youtube channel and mentioned on our new Twitter/X and Instagram feeds. On top of that, you’ll be featured on our platform for the whole of November – that’s right! No tricks, just treats.
We’ll start posting on our new channels in October, featuring our contest, authors, stories, popular tags and much more. It would mean the world to us if you follow us into these realms unknown.
In times of great technological leaps, we do feel the need to state that our narrations will not be performed by AI. Your stories are a part of you, and we feel they can only be told properly by flesh and blood.
Runner’s up
Our winner is not the only one to get a chance to shine their light upon our community. Although numbers 2 and 3 will not be narrated, there’s still a lot to be gained, as you’ll also be mentioned throughout our community and get featured on our platform, on our Hollow Halloween podium.
What if I didn’t win?
Don’t you worry a wee bit. The best contenders will be featured on our #halloween2024 page. We’ll put the tag on our homepage to maximize traffic to your story and make it worth your while.
Furthermore, we’re hoping to (re)spark your creativity and we’re curious to see what eerie, weird, terrifying and dark tales our community will come up with!
